13 Haunted Places In India You Should Explore With Your Daring Buddies



Today, we decided to list some reportedly haunted places that you can explore with your friends. Of course you can go alone but are you sure you want to? 

1. Bhangarh, Rajasthan

You’ll find Bhangarh listed in almost all haunted places’ list, even international ones. It is recognized as the most haunted place in India and even has an ASI (Archeological Survey of India) board which prohibits anyone to enter the fort after sunset. The locals believe that whoever enters the ruins after sunset is never found.

 

2. Dumas Beach, Gujarat

Located in Surat, this beach is infamous for paranormal activities. As per the beliefs, one can hear screams and moans while spending a night at the beach. It is a very beautiful beach by day which turns into a ghastly abode by night.

 

3. Jamali Kamali Mosque, Delhi

This mosque is situated in the Mehrauli Archeological Complex in New Delhi. It was named after a Sufi Saint, Shaikh Jamali and his aide Kamali. Their tombs are situated next to each other inside the mosque premises. People have reported being pushed and slapped. Some have even reported the sounds of growling animals and women laughing. The mosque is closed during nighttime but one can procure permission from the ASI to investigate further. 

 

4. Brijraj Bhawan Palace, Rajasthan

In Kota, stands a palace known as the Brijraj Bhawan and it is believed that during the pre-independence era, a British major by the name of Mr. Burton was murdered in the palace along with his son. Allegedly, the ghosts of the father-son duo haunt this palace and enjoy slapping the security guards, if they’re found sleeping on duty.

 

5. Agarsen ki Baoli, Delhi

Agarsen ki Baoli is a step well from the pre-independence era near Connaught Place. It is said that the step well was filled with black water which used to lure the onlookers to jump and end their lives.

6. D’Souza Chawl, Mumbai

The D’Souza Chawl in Mahim is one of the most haunted places in Mumbai. As per the locals, a woman fell into a well and died crying for help. Witnesses claim to have seen the woman lurking around the well.

 

7. Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune

This fort complex is said to witness paranormal activity on a full moon night. The stories suggest that a young prince was murdered on the premises and his ghost haunts the place. Locals have admitted hearing screams of a little boy as the night falls. The fort complex is deserted at night and locals advise against visiting it. 

 

8. GP Block, Meerut

GP block is notorious for paranormal activity. People claim to have seen four men sitting together and enjoying a beverage and some have seen a young girl in a red dress haunt the area.

 

9. Three Kings Church, Goa

The church, located in South Goa, is famous for the feast of the three kings.  However, it is also haunted. According to the legend, a Portuguese king named Holger Alvunger invited two other Portuguese kings for dinner and poisoned them. He himself committed suicide by consuming the same poison. Their ghosts are said to haunt the Three Kings Church.

 

10. House W-3, GK-1, New Delhi

An elderly couple was murdered in this house and their bodies were found in the underground water tank months later. People have reported hearing sobbing, bone chilling screams and other sounds coming from the house. It’s desolate now and allegedly haunted. 

 

11. Vrindavan Society, Thane

Its shocking that something like this can exist amidst the hustle and bustle of a place like thane. A man had committed suicide here and since then there have been reports of paranormal activities. 66 B is the building number if you want to go check this one out. 

 

12. National Library, Kolkata

There have been so many instances at the National Library of Kolkata that even the guards here are wary of night shifts. Long ago, there was a student who entered the library to do his research but never returned. A lot of people say that every morning, letters and papers are found scattered on desks in the library.

 

13. Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai

Not a very known fact about but its true. The architect of the Taj Mahal hotel killed himself inside the building because the final design didn't pan out as per his wishes. A lot of guests have reported witnessing his spirit appearing in the corridors of the hotel.
