A drinking game didn't quite end up well when a 23 year old student in Brazil died after downing 25 shots of vodka in 60 seconds.
Humberto Moura Fonseca, a student of Julio de Mesquita university in Bauru, Brazil, was partying when his group of friends decided to see who could drink 25 vodka shots in less than 60 seconds, as reported by Mirror.
Soon after drinking the alcohol, he told his friends he was feeling sick and collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital but died
in the way. There were 6 other students with him who also collapsed of alcohol poisining and three of them are going treatment currently.
"We were all having a great time and someone came up with the idea of the drinking competition," Fonseca's friend Rodrigo Pancetti, 23, said.
Ironically, on his Facebook profile under his favourite quotes is written 'melhor morrer de vodka do que de tédio; which translates to 'better to die from vodka than from boredom'.
"Two fourth year students at the university have been arrested for organising the event without a licence and for potentially causing the death of the student," a police spokesman told Mirror. The police is looking to charge the organisers of the party with homicide.
